Reclaiming the Sacred
Sacred Pilgrimage in Iona, Scotland
September 25 — October 4, 2026
The mystical Isle of Iona in Scotland is steeped in Celtic tradition, a tradition that many of us at the Haden Institute have been dreaming of and working towards reclaiming. It is a tradition rich in poetry, song, story, and ritual, a tradition that values the Divine Feminine and acknowledges the sacredness in all of creation.
Join us for this pilgrimage to visit this thin place that reminds us of what lives deep within us – a longing for authentic connection to the Holy that is found in our inner selves, in each other, and on this sacred earth.

Accordingly, we are limited in the number of pilgrimage spots that are available. We anticipate the pilgrimage to sell-out to capacity.

Haden’s Sacred Pilgrimage Leaders

Pilgrimage Leader
Megan Lyon, owner of Inner Path, a spiritual direction and wellness practice in Charleston, WV, offers individual spiritual direction and group facilitation that encourages creativity, contemplation, mindfulness, and communion with the deeper Self, the Holy, each another, and the earth. She graduated from Haden Institute in 2017 where she now serves on the faculty.

Pilgrimage Co-leader
Hill Snellings, a graduate of the Haden Dream Work Training Program, is a life-long spiritual seeker and explorer. Working with fire and water, stone and sand, rituals and the risible — he offers an experiential crucible for your use in transformation and individuation. A follower of Mary Magdalene and Kali, he bows and, with a Trickster wink, beckons.

Music Leader
Michelle Buhite, MDiv. A Unitarian Universalist minister since 2012, Michelle’s foundation is in music and ritual. She is a graduate of the Haden Institute Spiritual Direction (2018) and Dream Work (2022) programs and has been trying to worm her way into deepening her spiritual journey with Haden; success! Her spirituality is rooted in Earth Ways and the Celtic Wheel. Michelle participated in the 2024 Iona adventure and is looking forward to deepening that relationship.

Administration, Logistics & Creative Embodiment
Christy Austin is a graduate of the Haden Spiritual Direction and Dreamwork programs. She is often the first voice that Haden students hear in her work as an administrative assistant and she also holds the virtual creative space and small groups for students in both programs. Creativity is her spiritual practice and Divine Mother is her Source. Knowing how a trip to Iona changed her life a year ago, she can’t wait to be witness to how it changes yours.
