Betsy Happel (she/her) is a certified spiritual companion who has been mentoring and encouraging others for over 30 years. Centering on the mantra, “Be yourself and the world you love will come to you,” she believes spiritual exploration offers the opportunity for authenticity and to become fully who God/Creator/Source created you to be. She enjoys accompanying seekers as they explore their passions and gifts, notice holy synchronicities around them, or journey through significant transitions of life. Betsy is certified in Spiritual Direction through the Haden Institute and serves as a mentor in Haden’s Spiritual Direction training program. She earned her MDiv degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis following twenty years in the human resources field. Her favorite spiritual practices include journaling, soul collage, poetry, labyrinth prayer, and dreamwork. And all hail The Artist’s Way! When she’s not mentoring you can find her creating original needlepoint designs, having coffee with dear friends, praying her way through social justice initiatives, and walking her dog in the park. Betsy retired from congregational ministry in the United Church of Christ in 2023 and currently has a private practice in spiritual companioning and mentoring called A Yearning Soul.
