Daniel Renaud, OMI (he/him) holds a Masters In Pastoral Ministry, is a Certified Spiritual Director, Certified Dream Work Facilitator, a Catholic priest with the US Oblates of Mary Immaculate and Adjunct Faculty at the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, TX.
Daniel journeyed with a Jungian analyst for ten years as a spiritual director, which led him to complete his training as a dream facilitator with the Haden Institute where he currently serves as a staff member and mentor with the Dream Work Training program. He has given classes and workshops on dream work as a contemplative practice in various religious and Christian traditions. Fr. Daniel gives dream retreats, practices one-on-one and group dream group facilitation, and offers workshops on dream theatre.
Daniel finds that working with unconscious material through the Jungian Christian Tradition’s prism allows interreligious connections to be practiced in an embodied creative fashion. He enjoys how his background in psychodrama, theatre, 12-step recovery programs, Christian Theology, and trauma-informed holistic approaches has seamlessly integrated into dreamwork. He marvels at how dreamwork appreciation uncovers repressed positive and negative qualities and values with safety and dignity.
His core metaphor for ministry is pearl divers. He dives with directees into inner work and the mystery of the unconscious to find the precious pearls that reveal the mystery of God’s calling and action. He is writing a book on dreams as mystical theatre inspired by God, the divine playwright.
