Graduate Weekends
The Haden Institute has created something new for you! Due to popular request we are offering Graduate Weekends for graduates of our Dream and Spiritual Direction programs.
Spiritual Direction Graduate Weekend at Mt. Carmel -
May 15-17, 2009 beginning with a social at 4:30 PM and ending with Lunch on Sunday.
We are delighted that Margaret Guenther, author of “Holy Listening: the Art of Spiritual Direction” and past –Director of the Centre for Christian Spirituality, NY City, will be the guest speaker for our first graduate reunion at Mt. Carmel Spiritual Centre. She will make three presentations and hold an informal discussion with the graduates. Her three presentations will be: 1) Discernment at the Heart of Our Work: The Spiritual Director as Teacher and Midwife, 2) Women and Spiritual Direction, 3) Spiritual Direction at Midlife and at the End of Life. We will also have time to gather in small groups, share an opening social together, and join the present class for early morning meditation and Eucharist.
The weekend Conference fee is $240 CDN with $50 due to Mt. Carmel with your registration by February 27 and the remaining $190 due by May 1.
We are sorry to say that all rooms at Mt. Carmel are taken because the new class has 60 participants. But we have obtained a special rate with Rodeway Inn, two blocks from the Centre on Stanley Ave. Their charge is $50 CDN Friday Evening and $100 CDN Saturday evening plus tax (or $169.50 CDN total). The good news is that if you wish to double up it is the same price. You would need to make these accommodation arrangements yourself. NOTE: The Rodeway Inn is under renovation until March 1. So you will need to call for your reservation after March 1, but before March 31. They are holding 25 guest rooms for us until March 31. If you wish hotel reservations at this rate, call 905-354-2322 or 1-866-633-4526 by March 31. Their website is www.roadwayinnfallsview.com. Please mention the special rate for Mount Carmel at the time of booking. Please remember this is the Canadian Victoria Holiday weekend so after March 31 rates and availability cannot be guaranteed.

It will be great to see all of you. I wonder which class will have the most attending and how many will be coming from your group.
It would be helpful for our planning if you would let The Haden Institute know ASAP that you are coming, what class you were in (02, 04, 06), your group number (if you can remember), and if you plan to stay at the Roadway Inn (double or single?). We will not hold you to any of this. It is just to give us a heads up on how many to expect so we can plan properly. The official registration is with Mt. Carmel and your accommodations with the Rodeway Inn.
